Tribewanted: Vorovoro

As the snow falls and new years resolutions start to melt this seems like the ideal time to remind everyone out there of the exciting possibility of joining the Tribewanted Andina experience over the summer. If you needing something to look forward to, motivate yourself by or just seeking a good challenge then this is ideal.

Open to people without any previous mountain experience; Andina combines a mixture of horse riding, rock climbing, hiking, trekking and a week of mountaineering (including skills training). The first two weeks will be below the snow, and an optional third week attempting to scale Mts Yanapaqca (5420m’s) and Pisco (5752m’s).
Andina is a challenging experience that will push all those on it while offering some of the most dramatic and stunning views in Peru. A good degree of fitness is required (ie being able to run 6-7 mile s in an hour) but there is over 6 months to train and prepare which can provide the perfect motivation for running off the Christmas excesses and really sticking to any new fitness program that you have started.

After the success of 2009’s Andina we will be offering three departure dates over June, July and August. Each group will be limited in numbers which will provide a good working dynamic and also keep us mobile when trekking and climbing.

Helping us run the Andina experience is Damian Vargas and his Peruvian team who all originate from the villages near Huaraz, the town that we are based at. They have over 20 yrs climbing experience and combine a very professional experience with great humour and fun.
