Al Gore’s latest thinking on the climate crisis.

What’s yours, especially in relation to this project?

And is putting a price on carbon the answer?

While there is obviously a big C cost getting to Vorovoro from afar, I think cultural exchange is far more important. If we live sustainably at home and make green choices, flights for holidays will be offset by not only investing in renewable energy to “offset” the carbon, but will be offset by the cultural exchange. If we can understand other cultures better and were more understanding and well traveled, we wouldn’t be in the same trouble we are now. We should also focus on the big contributions to global warming and climate change like the Iraq War and the new rampant consumerism – it isn’t our plane to Fiji that will make the biggest impact – I would argue that we need to think on a bigger scale and look at the cost benefit of our flights. For me the TW project comes out far into the green and not the red for environmental consciousness and inspiring change.
