Volunteer development opportunity at John Obey - Sept 2012
Tribewanted Sierra Leone Volunteer Community Development Co-Ordinator
We have now secured funding for the school development project which will support much needed new infrastructure and support for three years from which point the school will be at a standard to receive Government support.
The role is for someone to facilitate the first phase of this project alongside the Tribewanted team and community later in 2012.
Location: Tribewanted John Obey, Sierra Leone
Duration: Minimum 4 months
Dates: September – December 2012
Position: Volunteer Community Development Co-Ordinator
Job Description & Responsibilities:
• Assist in set-up, implementation and oversee John Obey Primary school development project.
• Writing proposals for new development projects with community.
• Collating local information for the planning and development of further projects
• Managing the project budgets
• Monitoring and evaluation of projects
• Engaging Tribewanted visitors and members in projects
• Reporting back to the Tribewanted board
The candidate will work alongside and be supported by the local Tribewanted John Obey management team and given guidance and support from the Tribewanted Board.
Renumeration:
This is a voluntary position with food and accommodation provided by Tribewanted at John Obey. You will be wholly responsible for all travel expenses and insurance.
Candidate requirements:
• Excellent communication skills,
• Experience living and working in a developing country,
• Project management experience
• Experience of report writing
