Vorovoro Gardens having strongest year yet...
Bula Sia Everyone!
Our gardens have been the focus of a lot of attention here on the island as of late. After three years of building the soil with the compost harvested from the compost toilets, virtually any seed we place in the ground grows fast and strong. They are yielding more than ever this season, due in part to plenty of rain toward the end of the dry wet season, and of course, plenty of loving, caring members who are lending hands, and voices to encourage the plants to stand up tall and grow strong.
As is customary, the first harvest from the gardens has been presented to Tui Mali, giving both the land and the tribe a blessing for future harvests to come, and now we are enjoying fresh, homegrown veggies each day. We are enjoying cucumbers, cabbage, long beans, butter beans, eggplant, pumpkin, and chilies now, and the tomatoes and watermelon will be ready soon.
We will continue to enjoy the fruits of our labors here, and also keep hoping that the skies provide the sun and the rain as they have been so that our gardens can continue to flourish.
Moce Mada!

Thanks for the photos & info ! Being new to Tribewanted it seeming to me that fewer blogs about life on Vorovoro are being written compared to past years. I enjoy getting the news from Vorovoro & look forward to my stay on the island.
