Tribewanted: LIVE in the LAKES 27-29 June 2008

The second Tribewanted: Live event will take place in the Lake District, UK between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th June, 2008

Welcome to Coniston Water, the ‘Great Lake in the North’ – inspiration for Arthur Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons and adventurers world-wide.

Solar powered boats, canadian canoes, island picnics, lake-side BBQ, fell-hikes and the legendry Bluebird Bitter; join Ben, Simon and the tribe for an outdoor summer adventure and chill-out on and off the water in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

“One of my favourite parts of the UK – and a great weekend to breath in some lakeland air, visit a new island and wash it all down with a pint or two of Bluebird. See you by the lake. Ben”

Ben and the tribe will be joined at Lake Coniston by Simon Jermy, a leading UK adventurer. Simon is passionate about adventure in all its forms. After a stint living in New Zealand in 2004 and an award from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) in 2006, Simon founded The Conch, a community-powered guide for adventurous people.

Right now, he’s most looking forward to… ‘a summer bursting with activities, from canyoning and ultimate frisbee to paintball and power kiting, and of course…Tribewanted Live. See you in the Lakes!’

Michael and I are SERIOUSLY considering this event. We have that weekend free and were thinking of going to Mallorca, but this sounds like SO much fun. Our canoe event during MeinTWOT was such a blast and the chance to see this beautiful part of England with Tribe friends is a chance not to be missed. I would book it immediately, but he needs a little more convincing about the camping part of it. Bombard him with emails to Websurfingtime@aol.com with reasons why he should submit to my will!!!

Dave Natale By Gilligan, Hessen, Germany Posted Jun 4, 2008 9:18am

Would anyone be heading up to this from the Manchester area (?) as that is where we’d most likely fly into.

Come on Lollipops… you missed last weeks camping trip!!! Imagine us on another little canoeing adventure! (If you come along, I’ll bring you a tent!

Kate Walker By Kate Walker, Merseyside, UK Posted Jun 4, 2008 9:53am

I’m going. Gilligan, if you fly into Manchester I’d be happy to pick you & Michael up BUT my car is only tiny…

Lisa Cresswell By Lisa, Aberdeenshire, Scotland Posted Jun 4, 2008 9:59am

I’m in! The lakes are beautiful, will see you guys there…x

John Wright By JayDub, Middlesex, UK Posted Jun 4, 2008 11:32am

Not sure about this event yet (work reasons) but should know by mid next week.

Manchester is indeed the most appropriate airport for Lake district.
In terms of transport [Giligan] I am sure something can be worked out. More later – if / when I am confirmed.

Dave Natale By Gilligan, Hessen, Germany Posted Jun 4, 2008 4:05pm

Thanks JW but Kate beat you to the punch. I promise not to bring much Kate… it is a camping trip after all. I do have an extra tent though if you need one.

Kate Walker By Kate Walker, Merseyside, UK Posted Jun 4, 2008 4:56pm

I’ve got a tent thanks :) So is it a definate Gill – are you coming to the Lakes?

Ben: Do we need to bring our camping bits (chairs, cutlery, plates) or is that provided?

Melanie Miller By Melanie Miller, , Posted Jun 5, 2008 7:49pm

Hi guys have just got back from The Lakes so not sure whether I want to go again so soon. However, if anyone is going from London or the South I may be swayed. Climbed The Old man of Coniston and believe you me its steep and takes a good 4 hours round trip though we actually came back a different route to the one we went up. Ulverston is a charming town and Coniston Water couldn’t be a better choice of venue. However if you want a really good pub you can’t get better than The Brittania in Elterwater or The Wainwight in Great Langsdale even though it’s a good half hour from Coniston not far from Ambleside actually.

Dave Natale By Gilligan, Hessen, Germany Posted Jun 6, 2008 3:46pm

If I behave like a child can I pay half price?

Seems that I won… we’re coming.

Dave Natale By Gilligan, Hessen, Germany Posted Jun 6, 2008 3:49pm

Ben…. I just sent you two PayPay payments for our places. I hope you are ready for this.

Ian Short By Shorty, Lancashire, UK Posted Jun 7, 2008 11:31am

SHORTY is in!

I have a 4man tent if anyone needs a bed

Kate Walker By Kate Walker, Merseyside, UK Posted Jun 7, 2008 10:07pm

Booked & paid.

Shorty – Can Lisa & I bunk in your tent? I might be bringing one but it just depends on space in Luigi once I’ve got Gilligan & Michael and all of their junk in ;)

John Wright By JayDub, Middlesex, UK Posted Jun 10, 2008 6:02am

I shall be coming & have just booked my place.
This means that, as also for the Cornwall event, the anti rain equipment will be putting in an appearance those who were at Derby will know.
Due to above I shall only have one passenger space available but plenty of room for luggage. Kate: Should you wish to come to an arrangement re this so as to better accommodate Gilligan & co please E-Mail.

Cally Armstrong By Cally Armstrong, , Posted Jun 11, 2008 7:37pm

Will prob be driving from London on Fri lunchtime and will prob have a space in the car if anyone needs a lift!
