...welcome to the VITIKA

A seven night-eight day adventure around North Eastern Fiji – through jungle, into villages, along beaches, across reefs and onto islands at the very edge of Fiji time!

The Vitika (veeteeka) will take the Vorovoro experience to the road – a slow, traditonal journey using local transport and on foot with equal emphasis on culture and the environments we pass through.

There will be a mixture of village stays and bush camps, including a classic survivor style island stay (minus the cameras).

This role was started successfully by Sloggs in 2008 who had to return home to Bristol to work and we are now looking for someone to take on this role as soon as possible

Start date: April 2009 onwards

Vitika Co-ordinator Role

• To recruit tribe members from Vorovoro and other travellers in Fiji to join the Vitika


• To support and work with the guides on the Vitika itinerary and members experience and safety on the journey


• To manage the Vitika budgets

What kind of person makes a great Vitika co-ordinator?

• Hard working, lots of initiative and energy, not afraid to get hands dirty


• Experience in team leadership and outdoor education


• Great with all kinds of people, different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. Easy going!


• Ideally someone who has already visited Vorovoro and/or Fiji


• Strong first aider and calm under pressure


• Knowledge/ Experience in the following will be a bonus:
  – expedition leadership & Fijian language/ culture
