Vorovoro village:
For the island:
- Acoustic guitar strings (what can we say – the guitars on Vorovoro are used quite heavily and the strings do tend to break pretty regularly)
- Basic snorkeling equipment (reef trips are a regular ocurrance on Vorovoro and while a few tribe members have donated their snorkels, masks, and flippers to the island when they left, we can always do with more snorkeling gear)
- Environmental books
- Eco washing products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) for tribal use
- AAA Rechargeable batteries for Team Fiji
- Rechargeable battery solar charger (for all sized batteries)
- Volley ball and ping pong balls
- Games
- Cooler / Chilly-bin / ice-box (v.expensive in Fiji, if you can pack your things, we can give you bag to rtn home with!)
- Second hand mobile phones (chipped)
- Spare laptops for island use
- Biodegradable Hand wash or sanitizer (trying to be as hygienic as possible but environmentally friendly too!)
- Electricity meter to accurately measure electricity usage on Vorovoro
- Quality tarpaulins (large)
- Good quality arge saucepans / shallow cooking pan
- Spear guns for fishing
- Projector for forums, films and presentations
- Increased solar capacity would make a big difference to life here
For the tool shed:
- Quality paint brushes of different sizes
- Chisels
- Any tools
- Sandpaper
- Cordless power tools
For the kitchen:
- Eco washing up liquid
- Teaspoons are always useful!
- Tea towels
- Cutting boards
- Heavy duty Eco bags (If you live in the UK, Sainsbury’s make heavy duty, Hessian bags with strong handles and bases that would be ideal)
For the first aid kit:
- Plenty of Band aids and plasters
- Alcohol wipes
- Antiseptic cream
- Bandages
For the Hammock Society
- Biodegradable water bombs
- Super Soakers
Mali School:
- English dictionaries

- Any informative Posters
- Full netball and/or Football kit
- Eco cloth bags
- Stationery (Colouring pencils, exercise books, paper etc.)
- Sports equipment (Any kind of ball … Volley balls, Netballs, football balls, rugby balls, soft balls)
- Acoustic instruments (Fijian children love to sing and any unwanted musical instruments would be a welcome addition to the school)
- Educational or story books
- No more Harry Potter, please! (Dumbeldore is alive and well in the library of the Mali Elementary School, where his memory lives in more than a half dozen copies of each volume of Harry Potter. So please, no more Harry Potter!)
If you have any suggestions, please post them here and we will endeavour to add them to this list as soon as possible or email vorovoro@tribewanted.com. Vinaka!
