Epeli's Top Tip for the Best Bath in Vorovoro

Sea water and coconut soap usually does the trick for most tribe members however Team Fiji’s elder statesman and chainsaw artist, Epeli, has shared with me his top tip for keeping clean on the island.

“I go and take a bath here every morning. It’s a little pool that keeps refilling itself with fresh water, not sea water, even when it doesn’t rain!

To get there you have to walk left along the beach, past the Tribewanted huts. Carry on past the waterfall and climb over the rocks, once over, you walk through the sandy beach and near the end you will see a big tree – not a palm tree but a tree with low branches and leaves. When you’re near the tree you’re almost there! Now you should see a rocky area, turn into the cave and here you will find the best natural bath in Vorovoro. It is quite small, about two foot wide and one foot deep so enough for one person at a time. If I go at 7:00am you can go at 8:00am and you will have a fresh pool of water to bath in”.

There you have it – a perfect way to have a natural, sustainable bath on Vorovoro. Set off early to avoid the queues as the secret is out! Thanks Pu Pu!

I heard of that pool when I was there in Feb, and did explore that entire end of the island, that was my pivate beach most everyday. The waterfall was
flowing in Feb so I did not need to use that pool to take a bath but it sure is a wonderful part of Vorovoro. Enjoy.
