Last night, as team fiji serenaded Mariah on her last night on Vorovoro, we passed around a unique beverage. It is one that as far as I am aware, has not been tasted by tribe members until now. On our second attempt, using a simple system consisting of a tin kerosene can, a garden hose, a piece of foam, a few kitchen rags, and a water jug, we successfully transformed the sea into potable water with which I am now off to water our seedlings in the plant nursery. This not only has the potential to lessen the load on our water tanks but also means that we are able to put the energy from the camp fires to good use. photo to follow soon…

Wow a solar powered distillery. Best to be careful who we tell though – we may end up having to pay VAT on the output :-)
