Marama B signs off: "everything was perfect"
Bula sia!!
Tomorrow I leave so in my final blog I would like to say vinaka vaka levu to tribe members past and present. Keep in touch. Time with you has been both entertaining and challenging, but I wouldn’t have changed any of you for the world.
There are too many memories to mention, we’re talking thousands here, but I guess I have to write some;
1. Opening of the Dam, after all those hours of hard work, I felt honoured to be part of such mementos occasion.
2. All the Fridays at the school, I can’t choose one, I’m going to miss those kids.
3. Chilling in the Kitchen, with the crazy crew, they have taught me so much, I doubt I’ll ever make porridge with so much laughter again.
4. My farewell meal, was just amazing, everything was perfect, the food, the people; it was a perfect ending to my life here on paradise. Thank you so much!!!
It’s so hard to pinpoint memories. The wonderful people who work here, who turn down-days into good days and fill this place with laughter, it has been said before and I’ll have to say it again, they make this place, I will miss them all so much.
Now it’s time to head back into, not the real world, as I was told once, I have never been part of that, but away from the protection of this place, into the unknown. I just can’t get my head around wearing shoes again, and not having my friend (the sand fly) for company.
So I guess that’s it from me, Marama B handing over to Michael. It has been more than I could have ever hoped for and more!!! Thanks for your comments and support, until next time…
