Vorovoro is the best!

Hi. My name is Lucas Cahill and this is week 4 of our 10 week stay on Vorovoro. I am here with my mum and dad plus my little sister Bethany and little brother Oliver. I am ten years old.
One of my favorite things about being on the island is that I get to spend lots of time with Pupu. He is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He is the Fijian village elder and has exceptional talents for making things such as coconut necklaces and weaving coconut leaves. I even had the privilege of eating lunch in his house after we spent the morning making a coconut trophy together for crazy person Amy. I think Amy is totally crazy because she runs and swims up and down the beach each day and last week she ran the 4 Peaks, then changed her clothes and swam around the island.
The 4 Peaks Challenge is one of the hardest and most fun things to do on the island. The one time I went on the 4 Peaks was awesome. Peak 3 was probably the best because it was really, really slippery on the way down and you had to slide on your butt. At the top of Peak 3 the view was amazing. I think I even saw a shark from up there.
Something else I’m really enjoying is going to the Hammock Society to chill out but lately there has been trouble in the hammocks. Jim, the original President of the Hammock Society is leading a mutiny against me! I (even though he doesn’t want to admit it) am the rightful President of the Hammock Society. I need more kids on this island to help me over throw Jim – please help!
This island is a great place for people of all ages, especially kids because it has a fun environment and you get to meet people from all over the world. Some people even give you money from other countries – I have a pretty good collection going!
Till next time,
Lucas Cahill

This kid is pure mischief. I invited him to join the Hammock Society, we had treasure hunts to find water-bombs and water-pistols and now he’s using them against me! I almost broke my toe the other day trying to escape an unprovoked attack. We need to unite against those who exercise unnecessarily here in paradise. If he weren’t so close to Chainsaw Pupu he would be in deep, deep trouble.
Great blog Lucas, can’t wait to meet all you guys in a few weeks. Happy to help you give Jimbo a run for his money.
Go Hammocks!
Na’a na blog, Lucas! I’m glad someone is keeping Jim in check. I’ve got a tip for you next time he tried to reclaim the hammocks…. ABBA. Played, or sung, very loudly. On repeat. He won’t dare come near you!
Thanks for the blog Lucas!
Glad your having so much fun!
Keep an eye on Jim!
Lucas For President!!
great blog Lucas. I’m so jealous of your 10 week stay!!! Pupu is a fantastic character, I agree. I’m glad you are there to keep an eye on Jim, he is a sneaky one. If he hasn’t already told you, ask him about the “frog bombing” that happened on the island last July! Enjoy your stay!!!
Brilliant blog Lucas and for putting the Hammock Society President in his place, heheh!
Love having you and your family on the island and so impressed with your bili bili raft this week…this boy is a very clever one! I think he might even be a Pupu one day :)
Keeping having fun in the sun but be careful of the crab legs!
Fantastic blog Lucas! It was awesome meeting you and your family this week. Highlight was listening to you african drumming and also trying to get the boat into the water ;) Will be back at the end of August with some Ugandan money to add to your collection. Till then xxx
