Spending time in Fiji

While you can visit Vorovoro 365 days a year, there some things you may want to take into consideration when booking your stay:

Weather

Fiji’s weather is generally pleasant year-round, lacking excessive temperature variation. However, due to its tropical climate, there are two distinct seasons: a dry season (April to October), and a wet season (November to March). The dry season is generally mild, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 29 degrees celsius. The wet season can be hot and humid, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 32 degrees celsius. Rain can occur sporadically during this season, and typically falls in heavy, but brief, local showers. The wet season is also the Fijian hurricane season.

In summary, the wet and dry seasons can each be excellent times to visit. The dry season is cooler and weather is more predictable (increasing your chances of sun-drenched days), but water temperatures are also cooler with increased visibility. During the wet season the lush island vegetation springs to life, the waterfall shower runs 24 hours a day, and swimming in the ocean is much like taking a bath.

Please remember that being tropical, storms can occur in Fiji at any time of the year, as can the perfect day.

School Terms

School visits have often been pinpointed by our members as the highlight of their entire trip. If you wish to go on a school trip, you will need to make sure that you will be on Vorovoro for a Friday morning that coincides with the Mali District School term (we visit the school every Friday during the school term).
