What a perfect way to make a map without the effort of measuring and drawing! Where did you find the photo, Adam? Or did you take it yourself?

Labasa looks so different from the air, but it’s great being able to recognise different buildings and landmarks. :)

Google Earth just updated their sat photos for the Labasa area a few months ago and this is from there (at least looks like it). Great idea Adam – I wish they could put up a higher res (and no cloud) shot for the island. Sure would make this map easier.

Yeah, Walt’s spot on – it’s a Google Earth shot. I’m sure they’ll get to Vorovoro eventually – they have Kia in high res now too, so at least it shows that they are making some progress for the area

adam, this is AWESOME!!! if only we could do something like this for our gardens…hee hee. i know google hasn’t gotten that good at snooping. but this is terrific. thanks for adding!

I suppose we could try doing a garden map using some of the flyover photos that some tribe members took in January. I don’t think the gardens themselves are actually visible, but at least by labeling them with numbers it will give people a bit of an idea where things are.

Still, there’s a lot more things on this Labasa map that need to be pointed out, and I’m sure I can improve on the information about each location
