Sending packages to Vorovoro

Carol Wilson By Carol, Vorovoro, Fiji Posted 07 Mar 2008

Mailing smaller packages is always appreciated, so please feel free to do so if you can afford it and want to!

The key to avoiding having a hefty duty charged on things mailed to us here is to send them to people rather than the business i.e. address any small packages to Jim Kerridge or Amy Briden or Benjamin Katz, not Tribe Wanted. On the customs form you fill out when mailing packages, tick the box that says it is a gift.

Just to warn you though, sometimes packages simply do not make it here…I think the contents are too tempting! And then, of course, there’s always ‘Fiji time’ to take into consideration :)

Current postal address:

Jim Kerridge
PO Box 2670
Labasa
FIJI

Hey Carol – this has just reminded me. I sent a parcel of books for the school end of November and was told it would take a 4-6 weeks to arrive… any idea if it did?

Hi Carol.Just to add to what you’ve said..Maximum allowance for a gift into fiji should be FJ$200.So anyone sending gifts over, make sure that your shipment invoice is below that amount.Customs,in recent times, have become quite fussy about the declaration of shipment values.
And ALWAYS put a phone contact with the address, its easier to verify with Customs as well.Hope this helps.
