Vorovoro Health and Security

Bula all! For all tribe members travelling to Vorovoro, I reccomend you download a health brief of Fiji, including Wallis & Futana island. The best form of health advice is through MASTA,
http://www.masta-travel-health.com/travel-health.aspx
The health brief gives you a breakdown of reccomended immunisations, health warnings and security advice. It costs £3.99 for a helath brief and is worth every cent.
The only concerning heath advice I see which can affect Vorovoro is dengue fever particularly during the rainy season. Outbreaks of the disease have been reported over recent years. This unpleasant viral disease is transmitted by mosquitoes that bite in the day with increased biting activity 2 hours after sunrise and several hours before sunset. Travellers should take steps to avoid mosquito bites by covering up and applying insect repellent to exposed areas of skin. There is no vaccine. Fiji has a high risk of STD’s, so use logic!
Security is a concern, and for the latest updated info on security warnings I suggest you use the FCO (Foriegn Commenwealth Office) travel advice at
http://www.fco.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1007029390590&a=KCountryAdvice&aid=1013618386703
This info is not to scare tribe members but to inform them, as we all know it is better to be prepared then sorry! Part of my job as a project manager in planning projects all around the world is to provide health & safety plans and both MASTA and FCO is industry reccomeneded.
