Not just a Tribie.
As I stand here at a prepaid internet kiosk in Nadi airport, I feel I have left something behind me. It is not lost, as I know where it is, but I can only get it back by returning to where I left it.
I chose the title for this blog not because I feel I have been elevated to a higher status as a member of Tribewanted but because I have a new appreciation of what being a Tribie is. All of us who have become a part of this adventure, regardless of your membership number, are part of a wonderful community. Being on Vorovoro has been a wonderful experience of that community but many of you have heard me say that I felt I had gotten my membership fee’s worth just by going to the gatherings. We’re not just strangers participating in an online fantasy, we’re part of a living, breathing community.
My time as Chief has been a wonderful experience and I was afraid that it coming to an end would be a painful experience but instead have found myself looking forward to life in the UK. I am looking forward to building a new life with my Tribemate and Fiancee, Fiona, and to seeing old friends and new at tribal gatherings.
I have left behind some wonderful friends in the Fijian side of our tribe and I can only hope that I can visit againn in the not too distant future. I have also left behind the wonderful TW staff but look forward to seeinng them gain in the New Year when they too return to the northernn hemisphere.
All lot of people told me it was a good month for Vorovoro and I hope and feel that that is true but II also know I have left our island in good hands with Carol as November Chief.
Thank you to everyone who voted for me and everyone who helped make it a wonderful experience.
Bula Vinaka,
Chiron
