Tribewanted: Vorovoro

I am saddened to hear of the present situation on Beachcomber Is. I stayed there back in 1983 and it was a lovely, idilic island paradise run by the Costello family. Yes there was a bar and some great evenings to be had, with entertainment from Danny Costello (jnr)- he reminded me of Barry Manilow, but none of the drunken events that I have just read about. What a shame for Fiji and their tourist industry. I have always loved my stays in various parts of Fiji and hope to return sometime – hopefully to Vorovoro. The Fijians are a lovely laid back and friendly race. Let’s hope that this disgracefull behaviour by curent globetrotters can be contained to one small private island and not let to spread to the larger islands.
