How did you find out about Tribewanted?
I heard about Tribewanted while I was travelling in Australia. My sister came out to visit me and told me she had heard something about a community building a sustainable village on a desert island in Fiji which I thought was a great idea and something thatd be right up my street. While I was planning what I was going to do during my already planned Fiji leg of my trip I found the flyer for Tribewanted in an STA travel in Cairns and without hesitation booked it there and then! Best thing I did during the whole 14 months of my travelling!
In one sentence, describe your experience on Vorovoro
Tribewanted was a total breath of fresh air for me having followed the well trodden backpacker route through Thailand, Australia, NZ etc. and was easily the most memorable and fulfilling week I had on the whole trip.
What was the highlight/favourite moment of your stay?
The highlights of my week on Vorovoro are too many to mention but the visit to local school and the welcome we received will stay with me for a long time. I also loved being able to leave my mark on the island by building the showers and dining table during the first week of the project. I got a lot of satisfaction from that and I used the experiences and skills that I learnt on the island to bag me a job when I got home!
