Tribewanted: Vorovoro

As discussed on the forums we are hoping to launch a digital magazine and Tribewanted TV podcast series this autumn as a way of documenting the second year of the project with tribe generated content.

TRIBEWANTED DIGITAL MAGAZINE

Where I think the project has developed nicely over the last few months has been in the scope and depth of the blogging. There has been some fantastic reporting and story-sharing from Vorovoro and insightful opinion about other relevant projects, products and movements around the world.

But the majority of the those that follow this story will never engage in-depth with forums, blogs, and even basic online video.

So, year one…the Shine/BBC/book (pretty mainstream) documented the project, year two…we have a lot more tribe generated content and I thought a good way of having a lasting, professionally presented record of this would be through a digital magazine.

Do you own a Webcam?

Be a part TWTV , Tribewanted are looking for members with webcams that can help us to make an online video series about Tribewanted this summer. If you have ideas and a lot to say about the island, then we need you to record a short video blog. If you are heading out to Vorovoro during August or September then make that clear in your blog as we might be able to film with you on the island too.

Below is a short HOW 2 on making a video blog for Tribewanted TV. Blog entries need to be uploaded by July 20th.

1. Plug in your webcam and record a little test video. This is to check out audio levels and what the picture looks like. You need to be in the frame with good natural light on your face. Also think of an interesting back drop, you might want to avoid those pants drying on the radiator!

2. Talk to us – We need you to tell us what you think of the island, why you have joined the Tribe, what you plan to do when you get there (for members heading to Fiji in Aug/Sept) and what you would take in a single suitcase if you had to spend the rest of your life on Vorovoro?

3. Upload – send us your finished video blog (must be no longer than 2 minutes) and make sure the file name is your full name. james@stringfilms.com
