Year three Project Director announced...

Congratulations to James Kerridge , or Timoci (timothee) as he is known on Vorovoro, who will be taking over from Giles in September as Project Director.
With over 300 applications for the position it was always going to be a tough call. But after long discussions with Tribewanted and Fijian team and family, and with Tui Mali’s blessing, it has been unanimously agreed that Jim is the right man for the job.
Jim came to Vorovoro six months ago as a tribe member, was March Chief, and since then has been the island gapper. Jim has been a great bridge between the two communities on Vorovoro and gets on with everyone regardless of age or background.
Jim is famous on Vorovoro for founding the Hammocks Society and yesterday Tui Mali presented Jim with a new hammock saying, ‘this Timoci is not for you to sit on, it is for the tribe, it is time for you to work!’
I will allow Jim to add his own words here….he will be taking over the leadership role from Giles in September who return to Bristol to study medicine after taking for Vorovoro a giant leap forward in the last year.

Congrats Jim! You deserve it and I’m sure that you’ll step up and do a fantastic job with the backing and blessing of everyone on Vorovoro… I’m looking forward to working with you as September chief! :)
Congrats Timoci! You have massive shoes to fill with Giles leaving but I know you too, will do an awesome job!
As ever I love Tui Mali’s pearls of wisedom!
Will have a bilo with you in a few weeks to celebrate!
Congratulations Jim. Excellent news. I’ve been wondering if there would be any ‘familiar’ faces around by the time I arrive in November….no Giles and SJ away (for good reason!). I’m really looking forward to meeting you!
Well done Jimbo, what a protion which you greatly deserve from all the hard work you have put into the project. I think you will have to hang up ur role in the Hammock Society as now your going to have to take the Four Peaks challenge (Giles your record is safe mate). I dream of coming back out so who knows you may have to worry about what will “Easy” Jason will be doing next.
But really well done mate, best man for the job.

Big thanks to Giles for training me up and sharing his knowledge ‘n’ tips – he’s been inspirational… and almost impossible to beat on the chess board. He’ll be a great doctor.

Jim, remember the “old folks” you put up with during your month of March ‘08, well we wish you all the very best in your tenure. In all honesty I didn’t vote for you the first time around as it was difficult to overlook Elaine’s platform promising “cold beer with olives”. Also, glad to have been apart of the original Hammock Society with our donation of two that we left behind.
We think often of our week on the Island with you as our “Chief…..Gary, Susan, Bob(Marley) and Debbie
OH MY GOD ….I am so happy for you Jim, I am sitting here clapping in delight for you, well lucky I am coming back next year to see what you have been up to, you do know being a responsible project director means you can no longer participate in FROG BOMBINGS !!.....rock on Jim your do a fab job
