Multi talented and capable

I’ve decided it’s time to stop down playing myself. In fact I didn’t realize until recently that I had been doing that. I’m not trying to build myself up, or well, maybe I am a bit, but I do hope this doesn’t come off like bragging. It probably will, though, so allow me to apologize in advance. The truth is though that I have a lot to offer that I’ve never let anyone see and I decided it’s time to stop hiding. I’m not really quite sure where to start, so I’ll start with some of the jobs I’ve done. I’m not particularily fond of most, but I’m good at just about every job I’ve ever had. Mainly because I can learn anything I set my mind to. I’ve worked with jewelry, researched and prepared old county files for microfilm (Yes, microfilm. I had a release from school and worked for the county from age 15-18)Contrary to some of the other things I did at that age, I was actually very responsible. That’s when I went to work at the Jewelry store and became a whiz at reparing silver, making earings and pretty much organizing the whole place. I’ve also worked one on one with developementally disabled and aquired enough medical knowledge between that and my grandmothers, both RNs, to know that that was not the field for me. Partly because there’s too much bureaucracy, at least in this country. The quality of medical care should not be money driven! There’s a whole other blog though. The talent is that I aquired some interesting medical skills, a good bedside manner and lots of patience. Which came in handy when I worked privately with a Parkinson’s patient. I’ve also worked with children, organizing events and tutoring after school as well as at a daycare center and have single handedly managed fourteen children 4yrs.& under in one room. (it’s called under staffing) The children weren’t ever a problem though. The adults, well that’s another issue with not a little bureaucracy thrown in. I’ve done marketing jobs that saw me put together displays that MR. Rubix would have difficulty with. I’ve reprogramed cable boxes and can make just about any TV with power and an antenna work like new. Just how, I can’t say. I just have a magic touch with them. I worked a contract with the navy and with less bureaucracy than the daycare. For those of you who know I lean pretty low tech. it might come as a suprise to you to know that I learned how to maneuver through, edit and organize files in days that people who had been there years never figured out. SORRY that did sound rather braggish. I much prefer my out of office talents though where I’ve worked theater, everything from acting, to sound, to props and stage managing. I’m also a fantastic chef, improvisational though it may be. In fact I’ve even had a few friends suggest writing a cook book (maybe someday) , which leads me into my writing accomplishments. i know I’ve listed writer as my current job, but I don’t think of it as a job. I don’t get paid for it like one either, but that’s beside the point. I know I could. I just need marketing, So far I’ve written a book of poetry, 2 feature film scripts and working on another. I also have several short, scripts and stories along with a demo for a series of childrens books. If you need a creative idea, I’m your woman. I’ve owned businesses twice (not really sucess stories, but owning part of one and living in Greece took some serious adaptation skills) I adapt well when situations change and can work well with all different personalities. I’m responsible and overall, if something needs to be done, I can do it. That includes moving twice cross country alone, hulling and putting together my own furniture. Alright, I hope everyone can forgive my bragging, but I’m tired of feeling as though nobody knows what I’m capable of. So there it is. I’m capable of anything.
