KEEP THE SPIRIT ALIVE
It is sad to come to this site, and see nothing going on, to see the photos of the island and think of all the great things that have happened there….I came here so many times to pretend I was on the island, doing the things we all loved while we lived the life of Vorovoro, let my thoughts drift to that never never land of Vorovoro; it was easy to do knowing that there were people there, keeping the project alive.
I do not want to see this project end, as much for my own selfish reasons of loving being there, being with the Mali people and part of their reality – as for TuiMali and the Mali people; there should be enough people who were involved and want to see it survive to help to keep this project going. The Cahill’s are putting their all into finding a way to move forward, they, probably more than any others, put their whole lives into keeping the project going during its most difficult time.
I would like to invite anyone who loves Vorovoro to keep in touch via this site, you never know what is going to develop, there are always possibilities “after” Tribewanted, after all that was the objective, even if things are floundering at present; I for one, want to return, even if the project takes on a different aspect, I am sure whatever form of “good” tourism can be established again using the TW village, will be good for the Mali people.
Keeping in touch with all the people who participated in the project on a larger scale could help to resurrect the project from the ashes.
I will keep posting, hope to see some activity.
