Today is Sevu Sevu day – which means a culture lesson on the ceremony and meke lessons. This year brings a new meke – the Monkey Meke! Actually much easier than the six we did last year and there is only four rounds as well. I will definately shoot and post these as one never knows which they will have to learn – depends on which members of team Fiji are there :)

To get ready for Tui Mali’s arrival we did a big Grand Bure clean up – brought all the grass mats and pillows out to air swept all the dirt, ants, cob webs and a few 8-legged friends as well. Before I knew it – time to clean up and dress. I brought the sulu chamba (spelling?) that I bought last year and was happy that it still fit! Just as Tui Mali was to arrive the heavens broke open and we had about 30 minutes of heavy rain – we all wished it had happened earlier so we could have a rain shower!

Two new girls to the island presented – Sally and Chez – they did great! Then it was cake, tea and grog till dinner. The menus this time around are much more vegitarian than I remember so that will take a bit of getting used to as I’m quite the carnivore at home.

After such a full day I went to sleep early – soon I will adjust to the 15 hour time difference – but for now – sleeping in the tropical breeze sounds heavenly!
