Heading Back to Fiji...and possible charity bike ride....
Job Swap – Channel 4…
Moce England, Bula Fiji..(part two)......
Bula Sia Tribe,
So i have finally realised that Fiji is more of a ‘home’ to me than England right now…i think something happened on Vorovoro that has changed my life….so after 10 weeks in England i am now going back to Fiji, working with Madventurer.com – based in Lautoka, near Nadi. Yes – it is the company that has had Ben Keene and Giles Dawnay on its books….and now Kimbo….(very incestial employment history…channel 4 couldnt make this up….)
I cant wait to be back in the land of the ‘Big Smiley Bula’ (and grog!)...it wont quite be the same as living the community live of the friendly north, but it gets me back to where i want to be, and at least in time off, i can head ‘home’ to Vorovoro.
But at least im in FIji and doing something i love – running sports coaching projects in local schools and teams….and hopefully leading the first building project for MAD in FIji….cant wait for that….lets see if i can build a bigger bure! (and ive set myself the goal of trying to play for one of the National Fijian Soccer teams)
Its going to be a great challenge, and at least a new chance to prove everything life on Vorovoro has taught me – skill wise and personally….and about Fiji Time…...
Its been great to catch up with a few of the tribe, and i will miss that side of this Tribewanted experience – Ep 4 viewing (Stratford) and Ep 5 (Sway Bar, London) were great nights and im sure everyone had a great laugh – i will miss not being able to hook up with the tribe for a while.
But it seems enough of you seem to be heading back to Vorovoro over the next few months, so let me know when youre passing through Nadi, and maybe we can get together for a beer in Nadi….
looking forward to getting away from this bloody crap weather!
Naka, Talo Na Yaqona…MEKE!!!

CHARITY CHALLENGE…...
Theres something about personal adventures, challlenges, physical endurance, development that now seems more appealing than it did a few years ago….ive done my fair share, but now need more. Seeing as LEJOG (lands end-john o groats), 3 peaks (Snowdon, Scafell, Ben Nevis) are temporarily on hold, i need to set myself a Fijian Challenge. (standing on a pole, standing in ice, living in a perspex box etc…are too easy…)....
So i have been earning myself extra ‘green points’ and been cycling to work, and really enjoying it actually…so im starting to look into the possibility of cycling from Lautoka – Labasa in November/December 2008, raising money for the Tribewanted Dream Foundation…..announcing this now to you all, should at least keep me motivated to actually do this….., and ok, so it will be Lautoka – Vorovoro but this kinda screws my love for alliteration….but should give me plus points for my ‘carbon footprint’!
Its not the longest of bike rides, maybe 150-200ish miles (depending how to navigate Viti Levu), but the hills between Savusavu and Labasa are going to be a great challenge, and the whole thing should keep me occupied for a few days….and the challenge of heat/humidity, and grog hangovers after stopping at various villages along the way, should make it one great journey.
Hopefully i can encourage Api, or perhaps Mesa/Tale to come on join me for the journey, but we’ll have to wait and see….and of course itll be video/photo blogged along the way….
if anyone cares to join me for this journey, let me know, or if theres any verbal promises of a ‘high donation amount’ to TWDF, then ill definately make sure that this happens…....’really high’ and ill go via Taveuni!
watch this space!

Awesome news Kimbo! Glad to hear that you get to head back ‘home’
You’ll have to let us know how you get on with Madventurer.com
So the deal got done Kimbo, you were on the brink of this opportunity when I saw you at Onelife. WELL DONE
I’ll be cruising in Nadi with Ulai on April 29th – Maybe we can take a trip to Lautoka to see you if your schedule allows it.
