Time and Tide Wait for No Man
I read a message on the forum the other day, asking ‘is a week enough?’ The replies which followed almost shouted ‘No!’ a somewhat predictable response by anyone who has visited Vorovoro. Many tribemembers, myself included, have extended their stay once on the island, realising that the length of time they pre-booked, just won’t suffice.
While everyone has a different experience, the old adage ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ really does mean something here. Yes, it’s a huge cliché, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference what you find yourself doing on Vorovoro, the days come and go all too quickly. The island almost has a timescale of its own, the point being, there isn’t one.
Everyday is yours to with what you wish, you live by sunrise and sunset and all the other bits in the middle don’t seem to matter. It’s only when the days clock up and your ‘booking’ is coming to an end, time seems to become relevant again, where flights and schedules beyond the tide of Vorovoro won’t wait for you.
But while you’re there, who cares about time? Leave your watch in your backpack, you won’t find a need for it on Vorovoro. Be open to the length you’ll stay there, because it may just be the one place you’ll feel you have all the time in the world.

Well said, Hannah!
The real question is surely, ‘is a week with Hannah Edgeworth enough?’
great chat Hannah – you should get a book deal.
i think a week with me is surely enough, not many people can afford a second
Hey Hannah
When exactly did you go to the island? I enjoyed reading your blog, I am a bit cautious due to the programme content last night but I am going to the screening on 18th to make up my mind for good about the project.
