Melbourne Gathering February 2010
Bula Sia Tribemembers!
On Saturday a group of Aussie Tribemembers enjoyed a fantastic afternoon in Melbourne.
The weather was not looking too good when myself and Jim arrived at Alexandra Gardens but we found a good spot under a large tree and set up for the afternoon.
It was great to see 8 tribemembers on the day:
James and Katherine who came over from Adelaide, Sarah and Lee, Matt, Clinton, Myself all from Melbourne, and Jim Kerridge, who today is flying back home to England!
All tribemembers had visitied the island in 2009.
We had a great afternoon swapping Vorovoro stories, over some kava(which wasnt too bad!), and enjoying some snacks, while listening to the Vorovoro Sessions and the Mali District School kids.
There were lots of laughs as we talked about our favourite Vorovoro Memories, and we all agreed that we can’t wait to go back one day soon.
This was the first Australian Gathering, and hopefully not the last. Hopefully we can get more Aussies to visit Vorovoro and our next Gathering will be bigger and better!
A big VINA’A to all who attended it was a great day out!
Maybe next time we will share kava it will be on Vorovoro!

Vina’a Semesa! Sounds awesome and wish I had been there to reminisce about the colourful, crazy Viti times :)
I am sure the water tank and the boat story came up when you and Timoci fell off it…hehehe, Survivor day and Matt’s and Vanessa’s (and your..) photo sessions plus plenty of memories and sing songs from the grog mat…sa’ bera!
Sounds like an amazing time, only wish i could have been there….....Talo
