Bula Sia everyone!

I can hardly believe another week has flown by here on Vorovoro, filled with frog bombing, egg sitting and strange goings on.
The ever expanding tribe has been nuturing some special new arrivals this week after team Fiji arrived on the boat with 1 huge mother pig, and 7 piglets. Some squeeling and snorting later, the tribe calmed down and we managed to get the pigs happily housed up in their new home. While the boys had their hands full with the piglets, the girl tribe members had their bras full trying to incubate a clutch of wild hens eggs that were found abandoned in the gardens. We’ve been walking around very slowly and carefully so listen out for cheaping chests this week.

Some of you might know the Vorovoro Iron Man challenge involves running the 4 peaks followed by a round island swim. The Iron Man must be strong, push the boundaries of endurance and have the speed of a puma. This week we have our first String Man which involves a solid 24 hour stint in the hammock. The String Man must be stubborn, push the boundaries of laziness and have the bladder of as camel (or as it turns out a handy bottle). Congratulations Pete, we salute you.

Our usual Friday school visit was replaced this week when 50 kids invaded the island. We had an awesome if exhausting day and decided to focus the lessons on keeping rubbish out of the sea, which can be a big problem here in Fiji. The older kids went with the tribe on a beach clean up, while the younger kids used collected materials to make a big collage of the sea environment we are trying to protect. The day finished with as big swim, before rounding up the children, to find class 6 had buried themselves in the sand.

Word on the grog mat is that the frog bomber has struck again after Chez discovered an univited amphibian in her bed on Wednesday night. Crimestopper is heading the investigations and the trial ‘The Tribe vs The Frogbomber’ is scheduled for tomorrow ast sunset. Verdict to follow…
