Reuse, reinvent, return to your community

I just read about an amazing collaboration between a designer and a community – 15 Below is a project that has created a multi-use jacket for the homeless community in Canada, who face grueling cold temperatures in winter that often mean life or death.

This jacket is lightweight, tucks into a backpack that can be used as a pillow, and is durable and wind-resistant during the warmer months. And, during the winter, the ingenious use of multiple pockets on the interior allow for stuffing with newspaper for insulation.

Great Kaz. Have passed the link to a local organisation that works with homeless folk. The only thing is it is over in the US and Canada!!
