First Zaishu donation made to Mali District Green Club!!
Tags:
In true Fiji time, the first donation from the sale of limited edition TribeWanted Baby Zaishu stools has arrived at Mali District School just in time for the relaunching of the Green Club – only 10 months after the project concluded!
As a brief refresher – this project brought together an ingenious sustainably made, flatpack children’s stool from an Australian design team, with the beautiful patterns and handiwork of northern Fiji, to be silkscreened and hand-painted during my 5 weeks on the island as April 08 chief, and then sold in Los Angeles at eco-boutique Reform School. All of the proceeds from the sale of the 40 chairs is being presented to the Mali District primary school for the support of sustainability and arts education through their Green Club.
Especially in this economically tough time, the first of eight donations of $500 FJD will mean exceptional access to previously unaffordable materials and exposure to the work TribeWanted is doing on Vorovoro. This first donation is also being accompanied by a gift of the Power House – a science kit which include 90 experiments in sustainable living, from solar panels to wind turbines.

Our own beloved founder, Ben Keene, personally delivered the donation on behalf of the TribeWanted Dream Founation, to the delight of the students, teachers, and larger Mali community. Tribe member, Avril Fletcher, hand carried the power house from her stop-over in LA.
I owe a huge amount of thanks to the many, many people who have supported this project…and to the people who will continue their support with the purchase of one of the few remaining Zaishus, still available through:

Fantastic work Kaz! I remember the busy Zaishu production line and your creative juices flowing back in April so to achieve this much in under a year is incredible….
