We've booked the flights...
Bula everyone.
Major excitement in the the household as I’ve booked the flights – 3 weeks after seeing tribewanted on Richard and Judy of all places. Just need to sort out the rest of the trip….. Just a little bit about me. I’m a single Mum to Reece, a freelance education consultant and writer. We live in the contryside with our own tribe of animals ( Dogs, cats, gerbils… all from various rescue centres) Reece and I are well travelled and can’t wait to come to the island. Don’t know what skills I can offer apart from teaching in the school but I ‘m willing to learn.

It sounds like you’re taking your son, I’ve been wondering about taking my 2 boys (aged 11 and 5) I’m hoping to go in either April or July if the flights aren’t a killer. Has anyone else taken children?
Bula bula…I am bringing my grandson who will be 11 in 4/09 is our plan. Would be nice to hear how other families have made out on trip. Kole is so excited that he can “help” and I can see that this trip to Vorovoro will help shape the man I see him becoming. We are coming from the US and can’t wait to follow in other tribe’s footprints.
Can anyone tell me where poeple are getting the sarongs and other clothing I see with Vorovoro/Tribewanted on it?
Thanks,
Pat and Kole
There have been quite a few families that have traveled to the island and they have all left loving it and the experience it provided for their kids. I know I would have loved it myself!
The Vovovoro sulus are made by Api’s (our boat captain) son. I think they were 10 FJD each and he will put anything on it that you want – We picked up 4 when we were there last month… So if you do come to the island, you’ll be able to pick one up there.
Nice one Philippa. We took our kids (aged 10 and 7) and they had a ball. Any questions you need to ask – fire away.
Patricia – as to the clothes: the original TW T-shirts were a limited edition, but a very few will be being auctioned off at the gathering in London to watch the final episode of the series. The newer T-shirts (which haven’t been on TV yet) will probably be on sale there too. As for the sulus (sarongs), as Walt says, you have to travel to Vorovoro for those!
Can’t wait to get there!! Kole will be 11. I am in the States so at abit of a disadvantage…can’t even get book for months that I ordered from Amazon. Could put on site for sale or a link to purchase. But I do have the You tube videos to view :-) Thanks for responses. Kole’s school is collecting things for the school and want to do a penpal thing with the Mali school. Have a box collected already to send. Just need some contact info if anyone knows. Thanks and see you on Vorovoro.
