A quickie before dinner

We’ve been busy since I arrived last week with the Workers Bure nearly finished and will probably be officially opened tomorrow by Tui Mali. The washing up area has been expanded, the pig troughs nailed down, more chickens have joined the tribe, the tool shed has been expanded and I’ve done some weeding and cleaning/tidying the ecotricity shed. There’s been the usual assorted cleaning tasks and I especially like that you have to bring some rubbish to the morning meeting to gain entry in the Grand Bure. There’s been lots of interest in people learning to cook and the Naked Sunday feast was brilliant with eggy bread and beans for breakie, salad and tribe-made bread for lunch and Vorovoro potatoes and pumpkin soup for dinner. YUM. The new moon meant a lot of sand flies but there has also been some winds and rain which is good for the water tanks and our exposed limbs. Off now to try Va’s delicious dinner and hope to blog more in the coming days.

Naka, Julie! Sounds terrific about all of the expansions and team work! Please tell me more about the chicken additions!? Where did they come from? Bought in town? Wild ones caught and bought from Frances? Vinaka again! Liz Montgomery
