If you’re looking for ‘average’ accomodation, not too far from the town centre you could try the YHA there. I stayed there once, and it was ok, and fairly cheap, allowing me to spend vast quantities of money on everything else I wanted to do. (unfortunately, all I really wanted to do was have a pint and get a passport really quickly, which although boring, did infact cost vast quantities of money.)
