Which currency

Joyce Ward By Jay, Essex, UK Posted 18 Jul 2008

Hi Folks,

Starting to think about what currency to travel to VV with. Is there any preference in Australian Dollars or US Dollars.

I guess either of those are preferable to GB pounds.

Travelling via Seoul with a stopover

Thanks
Jay

You will be better off with Fijian Dollars, but dont worry as there are cash points in Labasa that take most cards

Thanks Donk. I would probably change up FD at Nadi Airport.
May well stick with £s and change up as necessary.
Not a fan of using cards abroad.

I changed up pounds stirling in Fiji, and ur get nearly 3 to the pound, very good exchange rate

Wow sounds the way to go then. The thing is you always lose out when you change back currency from one to another so I am now thinking why change in the first place.

Jay,

You will need some Fijian money, not all places take credit cards and no shops I saw accepted anything other than Fijian Dollars.

ANZ and other banks seem to work fine with UK debit and credit cards, so maybe just take money out as you go.

The line ups in banks can be very long and the western union in Labasa charges for exchaning money.

Thank you Carol, certainly will take some FD from here to avoid the line ups.
