How fast everything moves on!!

Having just sat down to really read what is on the site since I went out to Fiji at the end of Feb! I feel that everything has moved on so much I dont want to go over my own stay really!! But I do have some pics I will add – Christy you asked me to add some of the village and here is what I have which is less than I would have taken had I known before I went!! I have taken more so these are just a selection.

I would like to mention how seeing all the building and the landscaping and the electrics, water etc that has happened in the two and a half years had me really appreciative of all the hard graft that has gone on. THANKS to everyone who had a hand in this.

I am very glad I was able to visit VV and although it was much too hot and humid for me, I had some wonderful experiences – high among them was the swim with Amy and Jodie around about 1/4 of the island, leisurely snorkelling and enjoying the views. Amy was a great guide. Extremely burnt calves as a result of flipper flapping was a small price to pay. And I had put factor 30 sun screen on!!

I had thought going to the loo at night might be a problem but every night was a clear starlit one and my torch (wind up) lit up what wasn’t. One of the compost loos has a night light on permanently so no problem there.

I probably was lucky in that I never saw a large spider!! And the frogs looked ‘cute’! The fruit bats added to the sounds of the evening.

Team Fiji worked tirelessly to maintain everything – it,s wonderful that some can travel over here for the Hampton Court Flower Show.

Thanks to all who helped make my stay so smooth.

hi hannah
I had put explanations on each photo and didnt realise that when i uploaded to TW they wouldnt appear hence no explanations!
1. is VV from air with Mali next door
2. VV as seen from the outer reef
3. is vanua levu from the air as we approach labasa
4/5/6 view towards the vale i slept in – the one with tin roof – and view out of our window towards the beach – and view of the inside with Christine by the bed i slept in
7/8 views of Team Fiji village which looked wonderful
9/10 the breakfast table and the table for lunch and supper
the rest are self-explanatory i think except the last two – our going up river towards Labasa and a view of Labasa high street
am just about to include another photo taken from the door of our vale
