About Jemma Armstrong
- About Me
- I love to travel, and like to do unusual things while I'm at it! I've trekked for Charity in China and Kenya, been to the Dalai Llama's residence (didn't see him though sadly!) and scuba dived in the Red Sea.
- Occupation
- Work with Class A drugs users in a Magistrates Court - trying to keep the streets clean!
- Likes
- Chocolate, pizza, travel, sunshine
- Dislikes
- Shellfish (although I'll eat anything when I have to), tardiness, people standing around looking at each other when a volunteer is called for, credit card bills!
- Why I Joined
- This idea really appeals to me - I like to travel in a way that isn't going to stay in some plush resort.
- Hobbies
- None in particular, although I do voluntary work with a youth project in Hackney. I went scuba diving in Egypt recently and caught the bug - I'm planning another trip next year, and possibly a day's diving when I'm out in Fiji.
- Books I Love
- Shantaram, anything by Chuck Palahniuk, ditto David Mitchell, Tom Robbins and Salman Rushdie.
- Music I Love
- Kate Bush, Korn, Fall Out Boy, Newton Faulkner, even a bit of Britney Spears. It really depends on my mood!!
- Films I Love
- Rules of Attraction, Love Story, Blade, Labyrinth, 28 Days Later
- Party Trick
- I can salsa dance, although that's not much of a trick.
- Why Me?
- Because I said so.
- Tribal Skills
- Salsa dancing! Baking, TEFL qualification, DIY, lateral thinking, willingness to give most things a go.
- My Favourite Quote
- You have to accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
