9 – Showers and Reed Bed
The island showers (two cubicles) were built in September 06, but have since been upgraded from woven coconut leave walls to bamboo walls. The showers provide tribe members with a great way to actually see how much water you use in one shower. The reed bed system was built in July 07 under the guidance of then Sustainability Manager, James Strawbridge, and is used to filter the grey water from the showers and reuse this water in the many gardens on Vorovoro.
