10 – Powerhouse
Until July 07 the powerhouse was only used as a storage space for bits and pieces that tribe members had donated to the island, but all that changed on the 31st July 07 when Tribewanted was sponsored by Ecotricity. This partnership allowed the tribe to purchase a wind turbine and 2 solar panels, and the powerhouse became the default spot for our electronic equipment related to these green energy sources. Having taken a pounding during the Fijian the wet season, the original Powerhouse underwent a facelift, and should now be a lot better equipped to handle the next wet season.
