Tribewanted: Vorovoro

Vorovoro is surrounded by beautiful views of the sea with the different shades of blue and life that live in the water. Every Thursday the Tribe has an opportunity to go out exploring the Reef for the afternoon and I was one of these lucky Tribe members – along with 5 others – to be able to go out and see what we could find.

Our boat captain Api took us out for a bumpy ride over the waves and out to the Reef. The wind was blowing through our hair and there were smiles all round as we came closer to the Reef and getting ourselves geared up to explore!

We were going to stop off at 3 different hot spots and our first location was a beautiful area with many fish all around us. All in our snorkel gear, we fell backwards into the crystal clear water and set off. I was lucky enough to have an underwater camera so managed to get some great pictures of the fish and coral that lay beneath us. These are the type of pictures that we would never be able to get back home in England! Our second and third stops were as beautiful as the first with plenty of fish and coral around us. Api is one of the best fishermen on the Island and amazed us all at how quick he managed to catch a fish with his spear! Rich was lucky enough to catch one too and he was very proud of his achievement. We also had a reef shark swimming under us that was exciting and hoped we wouldn’t be lunch or dinner..

I had a brilliant time heading out to the Reef for the afternoon and am lucky enough to have some perfect pictures that I would be happy to look at over again and again with a big smile on my face thinking about the fun we had. Not bad for something that’s right on our doorstep ay..!
