My trip is getting closer
Bula Vinaka
Well this is my first Vorovoro blog (well actually my first ever blog).
My trip is all booked in for 29th May to 5th June and I’m starting to think about what I need to bring, and how much I can fit into the measley 15 kg I can bring on the plane from Nadi. Wind up torch, non plastic shopping bags, books for the school (boy are they heavy), eco shampoo (what is the water supply going to be like in June?) bio degradable sunscreen (so we can look after the reef).
Hoping that we have some more adventurers staying at the same time too but if not I will enjoy the time with the Cahills and Team Fiji.
Don’t be put off by the political situation in Fiji,if you are thinking of making the trip DO IT. I have travelled to Fiji a dozen times in the last 3 years (and sad to say this will be my first trip to Vorovoro) and have NEVER had a problem, well that’s not strictly true, my problem has always been having to leave Fiji and all my wonderful friends there. After I have been to Vorovoro I expect it will be just one more reason to never want to leave this place:)

Bula Fiona,
I was on Vorovoro throughout May 2008 and the water supply was fine. If you’re lucky you may get a good shower at the waterfall but nothing better than a morning wash in the sea if not! Have a great time, just wish I had the funds to go back!
Moce,
Aidan
Bula sia, Fiona!
Looking forward to having you join the island family! I think you are right about Vorovoro being one more reason for not leaving Fiji – there is certainly something about Fiji, and especially Vorovoro, that makes one feel deeply at home. Good luck on your packing, and I will continue my daily pleas with the rain gods for an abundant water supply! C’MON RAIN! ; )
Moce mada! Till May,
Jenny
