In search of an octopus

Lucas Cahill By Lucas Cahill, , Posted 11 Dec 2009

There is an octopus under the billibilli. The billibilli is the bamboo raft that is anchored offshore out on the reef. My dad heard some stories from tribe members about an octopus that lives in some rocks under it. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m going to go snorkeling with my dad to try to find it. According to Peter (a former tribe member) it is about as long as my arm.

We are still hunting the bats, but so far no luck. They are eluding us, but that may just be because of my dad’s terrible stick throwing skills! Nemani, on the other hand, has almost hit loads. But still, the bats are safe and sound, and still eating our fruit. But not tonight!
