Bula sia!
Jone, our boat captain, is very good at fishing. He has caught several fish these past couple weeks that have been very yummy. At the beginning of this week, he caught a trevali. It is a big fish with a bump on it’s head and it is very round, not skinny. Francis cooked it into barbecue fish. Everyone else said it was very good, but I wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t eat any. My mom is going to try to post a photo of it to my blog later.
Last night, my dad and Nemani went bat hunting. You could hear Nemani laughing a lot about my dad’s missed stick throws. A tribe member named Oliver thought that a breadfruit leaf that was very dried up into a tube shape was a bat. He also said that one of the small ones was enormous, but Nemani said it was actually a little one.
Last week, I went to Mana’s Kindergarten graduation and I stayed the night at his house. There were lots of Kindergartners singing cute songs. Sometime soon, I may put some of the songs off my camera onto the website. After the graduation, all 9 of us loaded up into one car taxi! We went back to their house in the village of Vuo and watched a movie before bed. Everyone slept on floor on mattresses with no mosquito nets.
Tomorrow, I’m going to my friend Alex’s house to spend the night. She is from Australia, but she lives here in Fiji because her dad owns the sawmill in Labasa. They have a trampoline nailed down next to their pool so you can jump on the trampoline into the pool.
Moce for now!
