Happy Birthday to Me!
Three days ago was my 9th birthday. It was really cool! My cake was awesome. It was Francis’ Chocolate Banana cake with Chocolate Spice icing. It had very pretty red, white, and yellow flowers on it.
I was really happy about the gifts I got from my family and the tribe. I got a cane knife from Lucas, a miniature baby mosquito net for my doll Julie from Oliver, three “Knot a Quilts” kits from friends back home, and a Kit Kat Crunchy and some Hubba Bubba gum from my mom and dad. Also from my mom and dad I received three pairs of earrings, one of which my mom made. The ones my mom made are so dang wonderful, because they are the first dangly earrings I’ve ever been allowed to wear. From Jenny Bebe, the wavu, I received 5 Whittaker’s chocolate bars. The two tribe members, Tam and Ruth, gave me a very beautiful butterfly necklace.
My birthday happened to be on a Sevusevu day, so when my mom and Bebe brought my cake to me on the grog mat, I was embarrassed because everyone sang to me. But it was a good kind of embarrassed because it felt so wonderful to share my birthday with so many people.
That night on the grog mat was SO fun. We turned on the song “Barbie Girl” and danced around, and I even got to take my sulu off to make dancing easier. I think that this was my best birthday yet!
Moce for now!
