Tribewanted: Vorovoro

Last week, something amazing happened! One of the pigs had piglets! There were twelve of them, but one died on the day they were born, and another died the next day. So now we have 10 left. They are the cutest little things I’ve ever seen. All pink and furry and soft. The first time I saw them, they were all asleep. But the next time they were walking all around, and the mama pig was stepping on them. She stepped on one of the piglet’s head but it was okay. The other day, one of the piglets got its head stuck in the fence. It was screaming so loud that we could hear it all the way down in the village. When I went with my dad to help get it out, Lucas and I had to lure the mother away from it with grass so my dad could get the piglet’s head unstuck.

The same mother of these piglets has had about 3 other litters of piglets. She is also the mother of Sampson, our only male pig. We are trying to get Sampson and Delilah, our other female pig, to mate so we can have more piglets, but so far we’ve had no luck. We think Delilah might be infertile.

Now that they are a week old, they already look much bigger than when they were first born. I wish all you people out there could see them!
