Bethany here, just writing a quick note to say “MOCE!” to Ropate, our wavu, who left this past week to go back to England because he got a job offer there. He left the night we had a gathering up in the village here on the island, and we made sure he had plenty of grog and food before putting him on the boat.

After Ropate left, Ian, our July chief, and a tribe member who has been with us here on Vorovoro for a long time took over the job of wavu.
