Tribewanted: Vorovoro

Summer is almost here and it’s an exciting time for all of us involved with Tribewanted. As many of you know, Team Fiji is coming to England to take part in the Legends of Fiji cultural exhibition at the Hampton Court Flower show.

So for those of you who have visited Vorovoro, have enjoyed following the project over the past three years, are passionate about the area and its people, this is your chance to get involved. Come along to the Hampton Court Flower Show enjoy the day, hang out with Team Fiji AND help us to give something back to their community.

Come along to the Hampton Court Flower Show enjoy the day and help out. We will be using this fantastic opportunity to work alongside Ben and the rest of the Tribewanted team to let people know what the Tribewanted Dream Foundation is all about, to help raise funds to build composting toilets, water tanks back in Fiji, and to support other local projects or ideas to help benefit the local community in Fiji.

We urgently need volunteers to help muck in and help out the coming weeks. If you have time, specific skills, or would just like to help out where you can, here is what we need:

• Volunteers to take turns manning representing TWDF on a stand at the Hampton Court Flower Show, between 7th to 12th July. This will include talking to visitors about the work of the TWDF, to become involved or to donate.

• Tribe members based in the London area to helped host a Team Fiji in the park! We are organising one giant barbeque at £15 per head (£10 going to TWDF) on the 28th June to raise funds towards the water tanks and toilets for the people in Mali. To make this a truly Fijian experience, you could introduce traditional foods, perform a Meke, and sing some of the songs you learned on Vorovoro. Oh, and don’t forget the Kava!

• Coordinators – We also looking for volunteers with good organising skills to get these events running smoothly. People with experience in fundraising, events management and marketing for example would be a huge bonus.
