The irony of Fiji time
Well the time had come for me to leave the island,I had packed up and said my goodbyes the Fiji way.I have to say the boat ride back to Labasa was the longest one i had experienced and i really didnt want it to end…As we passed sunset point I looked back and watched the island get smaller and smaller as everyone watched and sat facing the front of the boat i remember thinking that i was the only one the other direction. As we went past the mangrows and passing the boat outside the fancy house I realised that no matter how long you get to spend on the island it simply is not enough, you realise how lucky you have been to be able live here among the locals(both Team Fiji and its tribe wanted members). You can experience the whole party life of the other Fijian islands and may even be lucky enough to experience some culture, but really nothing compares to how you live on Vorovoro.Bonds grow fast and you develope friendships you never thought possible.Fiji Time is supposed to be synonymous with the slow passage of time, but then as we all know that time flys when you’re having fun.

The island misses you, Gareth aka Mr. Relentless! You were a hard one to let go! You should know that you left something behind – the runny tummy bug! It’s made it’s way through all of us now. Just something to remember you by! :o) Hope you are enjoying Melbourne!
